BIO
Over the course of his career Liam has worked with some of the country’s worst dogs – and achieved genuine, transformative results. Dealing with reactivity and aggression cases is one of his greatest passions. He uses a balanced training method, utilising all four quadrants of operant conditioning to create a completely tailored approach for every dog he meets.
Liam is passionate about the world of dog sport and protection training. He has titled in multiple disciplines and competed throughout Europe; from training with team GB for his IGP1 title to now owning one of the world’s highest titled Cane Corso’s – Liam is fortunate enough to train dogs capable of achieving amazing things in the world of dog sport.
Liam is deeply committed to sharing his knowledge and speaks regularly at seminars and workshops alongside the world’s biggest names in dog training. He has access to an unparalleled network of experts in the field – working with the country’s best helpers, decoys, breeders, equipment suppliers and more. He believes strongly in the power of education and loves nothing more than seeing those he’s taught achieve remarkable results.
HUGO
Hugo was Liam’s first dog; a Doberman rescue that sparked his interest in working dogs and training. Initially acquired with ambitions of pursuing protection work and dog sport, Hugo proved to be very different from what Liam had expected. He was reactive, environmentally sensitive and suffered from severe human-directed nervous reactivity, lacking the confidence required for the work Liam had envisioned.
Training Hugo became a practical education in canine behaviour. Over the years, Liam received a great deal of conflicting advice and guidance, much of which exacerbated the problems rather than solving them. This led him to question conventional approaches and ultimately discover balanced training. The only methodology that creates reliable and meaningful change.
By focusing on building confidence, resilience and engagement with the world around him, Hugo made significant progress and became a capable, stable companion. More importantly, he taught Liam a lesson that still underpins his training today: successful training starts with the dog in front of you. Genetics, temperament and individual characteristics must always shape the approach.
AXEL
As Liam’s first true working dog Axel enabled him to make real strides in the world of dog sport and training. He was rehomed from a client who had mistakenly chosen a Belgian Malinios to be a family dog, content with daily park walks.
This couldn’t have been further from the lifestyle that a dog like this truly needs; born to work, they require mental stimulation and breed fulfilment that a pet life can never satisfy. His breeding was questionable – German Shepherd x Dutch Shepherd x Belgian Malinois mix – and though social with people he was highly aggressive towards other dogs and reactive to the world in general.
Despite this, he is now a titled working dog; passing his ZWP1 certification, ACA (Advanced Canine Association) certification, BH certification, SDC certification – all tests and certifications that require supreme control of your dog and a true balance of obedience and sociability. From tracking, to protection trials, to IGP1, Axel has achieved so much more than Liam could ever have hoped for. Best of all, his needs are fulfilled and he lives a balanced and happy life. Something that Liam is passionate about pursuing with every dog he meets.

BANX
Banx is a Cane Corse from an exceptional bloodline and a truly unique dog capable of so many things at once. He has a significant list of working titles and incredible drive but combines this with exceptional temperament. He is calm and social and makes the perfect personal protection dog. It is rare to see these qualities combined, especially to this standard and is a daily reminder to Liam of the importance of great breeding.
Many clients come to Liam looking for breed fulfilment for their dogs; some are suited for personal protection, some to sport and some for neither of those outlets. Liam’s wealth of knowledge around the many types of sport, the foundations of protection training - and how training for each differs dramatically - is an incredibly valuable resource that enables clients to choose the best path to fulfil their dog’s potential.
